CSS 3 is currently under development but won?t be finalised for a few more years. CSS 3 is currently in development and will be split up in modules. CSS 3 is to the rescue again with 2 great properties text-shadow & box-shadow . Text shadow was proposed in CSS 2 but the only browser to implement it was safari.

CSS 3 is by far the best implemented in WebKit, even Gecko 1.9b isn’t reaching that and also SVG is becoming a really good implementation. CSS 3 is the new web standard and technology of CSS. CSS 3 has tons of new features and elements and techniques in new versions. CSS 3 is also offering new tools for designers that would reduce the need for extra mark-up. For example, creating rounded corners in a flexible layout currently requires a lot of extra divs and spans to ensure that the box can expand to fit the content.

CSS 3 is in the final processes of being ratified at this time. CSS 3 is arguably the most eagerly anticipated specification in the works at W3C. CSS 3 promises to make it easier to create page layout and to support formatting that is currently only achievable through hacks. CSS 3 is one of the best things to happen to the Internet in a long while. There are new features and more browser compatibility than we as developers have been used to.

CSS 3 is designed primarily to enable the separation of document content (written in HTML or a similar markup language) from document presentation, including elements such as the layout, colors, and fonts. This separation can improve content accessibility, provide more flexibility and control in the specification of presentation characteristics, enable multiple pages to share formatting, and reduce complexity and repetition in the structural content (such as by allowing for tableless web design).
